History

Corbin City Baptist Church is an evangelical, non-denominational, baptist church in Corbin City, New Jersey near Woodbine and Mays Landing, NJ. Here’s a little about our history…

On July 23, 1771, with a membership of 35, the Tuckahoe Baptist Church was organized.

In 1884 the property on which we worship today was purchased, for $350.

In 1885 this church structure; 30×40, and pulpit area and two side rooms, were built, costing almost – $2,000.

On December 17th, 1885, the new building was dedicated and the cornerstone laid.

The church changed its name in 1962 to Corbin City Baptist. (The area that is now Corbin City was originally Tuckahoe but was changed to Corbin City in 1922.)

In 1967, seven ladies began to meet each Wednesday morning.  This bible study fellowship continues to meet to this day.

In June of 2001 a Thursday night bible study began and then on October 2nd, 2005 the church began a Sunday evening service.

While there have been many changes at Corbin City Baptist throughout the decades, one thing has never changed, the faithful proclamation of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
